Gary Bettenhausen passed away at the age of 72 on March 16th. A sad day indeed for the racing community. Gary was a class act and would race anything, anytime anywhere.
Gary was from Illinois and spent his later life in Monrovia, Indiana.
A sprint car and midget hall of famer Gary was a 6 time winner in Indy Cars and was a Silver Crown Champion in 1980 & 1983 and a USAC Sprint car champion in 1969 & 1971. Gary also did some NASCAR racing back in the day with limited success.
Rest in peace Gary. You were a credit to your profession.
Some of the present day clowns that double as race car drivers could take a lesson or two from Gary Bettenhausen. We won't name any names in respect to Mr. Bettenhausen but you limp dik jerk off's know who I mean.
