Happy birthday to The King, Richard Petty.
The King MADE NASCAR and everyone who followed owes him a debt of gratitude. He won, and lost, with the grace, dignity, respect, good manners and class befitting a King, and he never wavered from those high standards.
With more victories and championships than any other driver Richard stands for an ideal of being a consummate winner and doing it with all the correct character attributes.
Today's $hitheaded drivers, more specifically harvick, baby stewy, pee wee herman jr. and psycho busch, just to name the worst of worst, could (and should have) been fortunate enough to have had a quality upbringing similar to The King. The sport would be much better as a result if that was the case!!
