He has a song that goes " There ain't no future in the past". With Jr. Earnhardts budro Martin Truex winning the 2017 championship, Cowboy Dillon winning Daytona, and Harvick winning Atlanta and all having ties and giving praise to old Ironhead, does anyone suppose that NASTYCAR is devoting the latest racing seasons to trying to refill the stands with the nostalgia of Dales memory ? For sure Harvicks car yesterday and the Truex car many times last year were a whole time zone ahead of any of the other cars! You have got to admit that when the sanction was in its glory days that the biggest percentage of fans followed the dirty one and many went to races just because they just loved crashes as the best part of going to the races. When Dale Sr. was in the field there was always a good chance that he would knock somebody out of the race and create a crash by the end of the day. I think that it may have occurred to them that the carnival sideshow bull that they've been trying to pass off to seemingly ignorant fans as real racing just isn't working. I surmise that if old Sr. had stayed alive that he would have had enough common sense and pull to tell them that something as simple minded as overtime, green white checkered, yellows for a paper napkin, and or a fart crossway to bring out yet another restart to strengthen the odds for yet another crash just wont work ! LOL ! Many complaints were of the latest field at Atlanta only having 36 cars in it BUT... If it weren't for the FACT that more cars have been crashed than ever with the latest format, then many more teams could've stay racing much more longer. So much money is spent repairing all of the damage that was created by all of the extra gimmicks worked into the mix. And having puppet like media and announcers acting like back yard carnival barkers isn't helping the sport out either. At least if I am assuming correctly, old man Earnhardt would have told young France " If it ain't broke don't fix it " !
